FAQ

What is your approach to diversity and inclusion?

We don’t take an one-size-fits-all approach, but customize our work around your particular organization and goals. We value equity over equality, real change over marketing and DEI buzzwords, and take an approach of listening and learning first. We’re inspired by Indigenous perspectives and theories of decolonized work, and incorporate these into our inclusion consulting practice.

Do you offer bias training?

Not anymore. Though in the past we offered introductory diversity and inclusion training, including sessions on bias and basic inclusion definitions, we have discontinued this service. Basic DEI information is widely available online, and we want to focus on helping you take the next step and apply it meaningfully. We are happy to recommend free online resources to learn the basics.

I want an inclusive pay / recruiting / onboarding program, can you help?

Yes! Our HR and compensation consulting offerings are already designed to be inclusive, and are vetted and reviewed against standards and best practices set by our DEI team.

"Bright + Early is what every company needs for their DEI Strategy. They were a fantastic extension to our existing People & Culture Team and supported us through our continuous DEI journey. They got to know our people and learn our culture to provide the best way for us to be impactful as a company and educate our employees. Trust me; you want Bright + Early on your team!"

Hemalee Sisodraker, Director People and Culture, Endy

"We partnered with Bright and Early in 2020 to build out the foundation of our DEI strategy, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Shav was an incredible partner and taught us so much about how to consider and solve for equity in the workplace. Our meetings were one of my favorites every week! Shav (Bright and Early) helped our team, build up our competencies around DEI work, and set us up to carry the work forward on our own."

Shelby Reaburn, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager, BenchSci

"Bright + Early are the folks you need in your camp if you are looking for transformational HR practices. They are progressive, execution-focused and thoughtful in their approach to helping you build the modern workplace. And, they are super fun to work with on top. What else can a CEO ask for? OK, some skittles maybe."

"Bright + Early came aboard the Juno team at a key moment in our growth. We were experiencing the definition of growing pains, combined with clear indications from all sides that I needed to level up as a leader in a big way. ZJ and Nora both supported us through it, and after a few tough months, my team's culture was transformed. I changed, too."

"Hiring B&E right after our Series A was the best move we made. It allowed us to build a great HR foundation in the most important time as we were scaling the company...  I highly recommend adding B&E to your team as early as possible. You won't regret it."
